Spanish Conversation Practice, Any Time

Last updated October 27, 2026

WanderMundo, an AI language tutor app, gives you Spanish conversation practice whenever you want it: pick a real situation, like checking into a hotel or small talk with a coworker, and talk it through with an AI tutor by voice or text. It replies at your level and corrects each mistake with a one-line explanation.

How do I practice speaking Spanish without a partner?

You can practice speaking Spanish without a partner by talking with an AI tutor. It plays the other person in the conversation, waits as long as you need, and never gets tired of repeating. Here is how a session works in WanderMundo:

  • Set your level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) and your goal: travel, work, conversation or exams.
  • Choose a scenario. The tutor opens the conversation in Spanish, in character.
  • Reply by typing, or speak your answer with the microphone. Every tutor reply can be read aloud.
  • For a fully spoken session, use Talk mode: a live conversation with a transcript, with written corrections after the call.
  • Read the correction cards, tap words to save them as flashcards, and reopen the session later on any device.

What should I talk about in Spanish?

Talk about the situations you will actually face. These are the seven scenarios, with a sample opening line from the tutor:

  • Ordering at a restaurant: "¡Buenas noches! ¿Mesa para cuántas personas?" (Good evening! A table for how many?)
  • Small talk: "¡Hola! ¿Qué tal tu fin de semana?" (Hi! How was your weekend?)
  • Job interview: "Cuénteme un poco sobre su experiencia." (Tell me a little about your experience.)
  • Hotel check-in: "Bienvenido. ¿Tiene una reserva?" (Welcome. Do you have a reservation?)
  • Doctor visit: "Buenos días. ¿Qué le pasa?" (Good morning. What seems to be the problem?)
  • Asking directions: "¿Te puedo ayudar? ¿Adónde vas?" (Can I help you? Where are you going?)
  • Free conversation: "¿De qué te gustaría hablar hoy?" (What would you like to talk about today?)

How do corrections work?

Corrections appear as a small card under your message, and the conversation keeps going. The card shows the corrected sentence and a one-line explanation in your own language.

For example, if the tutor asks your age and you write "Yo soy 25 años", the card shows "Tengo 25 años" with the reason: Spanish uses tener, not ser, for age. The tutor then replies naturally, as a real person would.

Corrections are written for learners, not linguists. Instead of grammar jargon, you get a short, plain reason you can remember next time, such as "mesa is feminine, so use una" or "use the past tense for something that already happened". Reading a handful of these after each session is one of the quickest ways to stop repeating the same errors.

Every correction is also recorded by type, such as verb conjugation or gender agreement. The My Mistakes page ranks your most common types, and the tutor steers new conversations so you practice them again.

Is AI conversation practice as good as a human partner?

AI conversation practice is different from a human partner rather than a replacement. Humans add culture, humor and real spontaneity, and talking with native speakers is valuable whenever you can.

An AI tutor has its own strengths: it is available any time, it never judges you, it adjusts to your level, and it corrects every error instead of letting mistakes slide to be polite. Use both if you can: AI practice for daily repetitions, and people for real-world experience.

How can I have better Spanish conversations?

A few habits make each session more useful:

  • Answer in full sentences, not single words. "Quiero el pollo, por favor" practices more than "pollo".
  • Ask questions back. Asking "¿Y usted?" keeps the conversation going and practices question forms.
  • Try saying it a new way. If you used the present tense, retell the same thing in the past.
  • Review the correction cards after each session and save useful words for flashcard review.
  • Practice a little every day rather than a lot once a week.

Where does conversation practice fit in a study plan?

Conversation practice should be the core of your daily routine, with flashcards and listening around it. Our guide to the best way to learn Spanish lays out a daily routine and a 12-week plan, and the learn Spanish app page explains every feature in WanderMundo.
