The questions get harder as you go, from A1 to B2. Pick an answer to see if you were right and why. After question 6 you get a quick estimate of your level.
What do the levels A1 to C2 mean?
A1 and A2 mean you can handle everyday basics, B1 and B2 mean you can manage on your own in most situations, and C1 and C2 mean you use Spanish with ease and precision. The scale comes from the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). For a full breakdown with examples, read CEFR levels explained.
| Level | In plain words | You can… |
|---|---|---|
| A1 | Beginner | Introduce yourself, order food, ask simple questions |
| A2 | Elementary | Talk about your day and simple past events |
| B1 | Intermediate | Tell stories, handle travel, give reasons |
| B2 | Upper intermediate | Discuss opinions with native speakers at natural speed |
| C1 | Advanced | Speak fluently and precisely at work or in study |
| C2 | Near-native | Understand almost everything and express fine shades of meaning |
How does the full test work?
The full test is adaptive: each answer decides how hard the next question is, so it finds your level in about 8 minutes instead of making you answer everything. It runs in your browser after you create a free account.
It has four parts. Listening plays short Spanish clips and asks what they mean. Grammar and vocabulary questions climb or drop in difficulty depending on your answers. A short reading passage checks understanding. Finally you give one speaking or writing answer, which the AI rates.
At the end you get an estimated overall level from A1 to C2 plus a result for each skill, so you can see if your listening is ahead of your grammar, for example. Your tutor, stories and podcasts then match that level. You can retake the test every 30 days to see your progress.
How accurate is an online Spanish level test?
An online Spanish level test gives an estimate, not an official result. It is useful for choosing material at the right difficulty and for tracking progress, but it is not an exam.
For an official certificate, learners take the DELE or SIELE exams, which are run by recognized institutions and graded under exam conditions. WanderMundo never gives certificates. Think of our test as a quick, honest starting point for practice.
The sample quiz on this page is even rougher: six questions can only point to a band. The full test, with listening and a speaking or writing answer, gives a much better picture.
What should I do after the test?
Use your level to practice at the right difficulty every day. After the full test, WanderMundo builds a short daily plan from your result: a conversation, a listening episode and a few review cards.
Try Story mode, where you tell the AI tutor what you did and it corrects your past-tense mistakes; the past is where most learners get stuck between A2 and B1. Then listen to a graded podcast episode at your level; see the best Spanish podcasts for beginners. For a full routine, follow how to learn Spanish fast.
