Learn Korean

Updated November 1, 2026

WanderMundo is an AI language learning app where you learn Korean through short course lessons, speaking with an AI tutor and graded stories. This page shows the actual course units and what to practice first. Start free in your browser, with no download or credit card; your pace is your own.

What will you learn in the first 30 days?

Use units 1–5 as a suggested first-month focus: introductions, likes, numbers, ordering and telling what happened yesterday. Each unit has four short lessons. Days 1–10 can include First Words if you know nothing; then return to the Path. Repeat difficult lessons rather than rushing to meet a calendar target.

The tables are drawn directly from the current Korean course data, including each unit's actual level. They are a course inventory, not a competing-app list or a promise of fluency. For a broader study method, read the best way to learn Korean; for app comparisons, use the Korean app guide.

To compare this choice with other practice formats, use Best language learning apps. To place this topic in a structured course, start with Learn Spanish. For the course sequence behind this practice, see Learn French. For the course sequence behind this practice, see Learn Italian.

How does a lesson work?

Every unit opens with a tip card: one grammar point in plain English, plus one memorable trick for remembering it. Unit 1 introduces 저는 and 예요 / 이에요. 저는 학생이에요 means I am a student. The tip explains the ending after a final consonant; you use the pattern in short practice sentences.

Then you practice with eight exercise types, mixed so you read, listen, write and speak in every lesson:

  • Tap the pairs: match words to their meaning.
  • Build the sentence: put word tiles in order.
  • Listen and pick: hear a sentence and choose what it means.
  • Listen and type: write what you hear.
  • Say it: read a sentence out loud with the microphone.
  • Fill the blank: complete a sentence with the missing word.
  • Fix the mistake: spot and correct a typical learner error.
  • Translate: turn an English sentence into Korean.

What happens in the practice chat after each lesson?

Each lesson ends with a short practice chat with the AI tutor, built around what you just learned. You answer by typing or speaking, and when you make a mistake you see a correction card with the right sentence and a one-line reason in your own language.

There are no hearts or lives. Mistakes never block you; they come back later and are saved to Review, where saved words also become flashcards. Path lessons are free and unlimited on every plan.

Can you speak from day one?

Start with a greeting or a predictable situation rather than waiting for a large vocabulary. In Talk you chat with the tutor by text, microphone or a live voice call. You can pick a scenario like ordering at a restaurant, checking into a hotel or asking directions, or just have a free conversation. Beginners get tap-to-answer reply ideas and slow audio.

Walk & Talk works in Korean too: a hands-free spoken lesson of 10 to 60 minutes with headphones, with warm-up, grammar, drills, a short story and a role play. Voice commands like "slower", "repeat that", "pause" and "how do you say..." keep it going without touching your phone.

Can you listen to graded Korean stories?

Choose a graded Korean episode you can follow with support; listening levels are separate from structured course depth. Listen has podcast-style story episodes graded by level, with a read-along transcript in Korean, English or both, and speeds from 0.6x to 1.25x. Beginner episodes include English support that fades as your level goes up.

How do you track your level?

A signed-in placement test takes about eight minutes and estimates your level. You can also choose Total beginner and start with First Words. Korean course units reach A2 today; higher tutor or listening levels do not imply a full higher-level Path course.

What are 6 useful Korean starter phrases?

Romanization here is a temporary reading aid, not an exact English sound guide. The Path and tutor use Hangul; verb-learning material also provides romanization. Practice reading the Hangul while using the guide only when needed.
